Back to America

and restless . . . missing all the beauty of the people and places in Italia. Where did I leave my heart? Has anyone found it, beating aimlessly on some beach near the breathtaking Adriatic? Or perhaps you have seen the lonely organ pulsing in one of the many orchards of olive trees or intermingled with the grapes hanging on a vine somewhere in the countryside? I know it is there, for I feel the loss within my soul.

I am home now, finally . . . after some travel travails. Nonetheless, I am no worse for the wear as the expression goes, just a bit frustrated that I feel so much longing. Is it possible to become one with a place, a region, a group of people who are by nature very uniquely different from those I encounter normally here? When I think of Puglia, when I remember the details of each day, I swell with feelings. It is a place that impacts you to your very core. The heart of Puglia beats within me now . . . perhaps that is why I feel strange for leaving.

This trip was quite promising for me, I found so many hidden treasures of this region . . within the narrow, cobbled ancient streets of Puglia there are jewels of extraordinary significance. I will be working with my partner to get our website up and filled with some samplings within the next few days for your enjoyment. I hope you will visit when we post our link to the website for Chemarci. There will be ceramics, stone sculptures, and beautiful handwoven and crafted decorative items. Please visit when you have the chance!

Thank you, and have a wonderful new day, wherever it is you are.
